We offer services intended to help navigate through mental health issues while at once addressing the sociopolitical context in which we live. Our service address the mental health issues that can result from discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion etc. People come to us when they want to work on healing themselves from injuries caused by this system. This system operates through the educations system, the healthcare system, the housing system, the job market, the media, the criminal justice system etc. Living in these systems and attempting to thrive despite of them, can lead to increased distress. We offer therapeutic consultation that keeps these factors in mind at all times. People have internal resources that they can utilize to heal themselves. Our job is to help them realize and optimize those resources. We all have ability to heal from injuries based on racial trauma, sexism, homophobia xenophobia and other forms of discrimination. The first step to healing is acknowledging the role that these various systems have played in our life and becoming conscious of how that impacts our mental health.
